About Sticker Papers

How the stickers are made

  • TAOthings stickers are made to order. Every order is prepared with love and gratitude.
  • Designs are laser-printed onto sticker paper. Sticker sheets are kiss-cut, and standalone stickers are die-cut.
  • Please allow extra time for orders containing multiple sticker sheets.
  • Feel free to contact me if you'd like a larger quantity than is listed as available.

COMPARING MATERIALS

The comparison chart above lists pros & cons of the different sticker paper options. Below is a more detailed overview.

Clear Washi Sticker Paper:

  • The washi sticker paper has a matte finish and is translucent, ideal for use in a planner or layered journal spread.
  • The cut line is harder to see at first, when peeling stickers from the backing sheet.
  • The material sticks well and is fairly removable. Please use care, however, as these stickers are quite delicate.
  • Flaking may sometimes occur, when peeling up a sticker to remove or reposition it.
  • Washi sticker paper is obtained from China. Suppliers' stock varies and batches tend to be inconsistent; properties may differ from one package to the next. For example, some sheets may be slightly thinner or thicker and respond differently to the printer.
  • Washi sticker paper is now subject to the new high tariffs that the USA imposed on Chinese imports in 2025!
  • Personally, I really love washi stickers. For this reason, I continue to make them, despite the quality issues and challenges mentioned above.
  • Due to limited supply and rising costs, I now only offer washi sticker paper for word and planner stickers. To request this material for a different listing, please contact me.

White Removable Sticker Paper:

  • This sticker paper can be re-positioned (carefully) on most paper.
  • It has a writable, matte finish.
  • Colors may appear a little bit more flat than on other materials, but overall this is a very nice, economical, user-friendly sticker paper.

White Gloss and Clear Gloss Sticker Papers:

  • These sticker papers are NOT removable. Once stuck, peeling them back up may tear the underlying page.
  • The gloss is very subtle. Stickers do not look highly glossy.
  • I hadn't expected to prefer these to washi stickers, but I've found they look nice and are enjoyable to use. These are the papers I prefer now for my own use.

White Vinyl Sticker Paper:

  • The vinyl has a matte finish and is weatherproof.
  • These stickers are semi-removable. They can generally be removed by peeling up very carefully, but they aren't suitable for repositioning on a journal page.
  • To test the weatherproof quality, I used this sticker paper to make a street number decal for my mailbox a year ago, and it has held up beautifully.
