Spring into Collage with Ha7uu Studio

When I first discovered Ha7uu Studio, five years ago, I fell instantly in love with this artist's bold, beautiful, poetic vision for collage art. For me, Ha7uu's designs ignite imagination and seem to speak directly to the soul, whispering with symbols, colors, patterns, and phrase fragments formed harmoniously into fascinating arrangements.

If you're drawn to journal collage but perhaps a bit intimidated by the vast array of visual styles circulating in the stationery world, you can't go wrong with Ha7uu's tapes. They provide a gentle, welcoming door into the world of abstract expressive collage.

Viewed as a whole, Ha7uu's style sensibility is elegant and graceful. Designs interlace bold elements and shapes with gentle messages, sleek line work, and soothing image fragments.

For example, their recent Flower Study series enfolds shapely spatter and inky sprays (see Spilled Blooms) or stark black-and-white blocking (Glimmer) within floral-themed imagery celebrating nature's delicate beauty.

Ha7uu's four-seasons series likewise has a distinctly modern feel, interpreting each season into a color story with playful geometric motifs and a fragmented flow that feels both minimalist and richly meaningful.

The seasons series includes Winter ImpressionSpring Meditation, Summer Cooling, and Autumn Splendor.

When journaling with Ha7uu's tapes and ephemera papers, even a small snippet goes a long way toward making a journal page spread feel steeped in meaning.

I often reach for these tapes when decorating happy mail, such as clear or vellum envelopes and paper baggies for packaging tape loops. These stylish tapes help transform a mini collage into a heartfelt statement.

Again, in these examples, I only used small portions of tape or ephemera on any given page, essentially choosing one or two of the designs as morsels to savor.

Ha7uu 哈秋 is based in Taiwan. You can find this artist's array of stunningly special products in their Pinkoi shop. If you're a stationery addict, expect to spend a good long while there browsing and savoring all the delightful creations!
